Oranges, Frills, Tartans and my favourite of all is the red skirt. I Love it. But i was a bigger fan of their SS11 collection.. It had a bit more appeal to me. The shoes are gorge but still prefer the SS ones with ears on.. Cuter with a top knot and not the scraped back hair (in my opinion)

2011 is the year of the Royal Wedding, Helena Bonham Carter finally getting the recognition she deserves in the style press and a trend for colour you just can't ignore. 

For this trend section we have married these all together, to give you an eccentric English Lady's take on the incredibly prevalent bright colour blocking trend seen on the Catwalks back in September, whilst regaining some regal dignity to the whole affair. 

Christopher Kane encapsulated this entire trend with his SS11 collection described as 'Princess Margaret on Acid', showing a collection of neon printed lace twinsets, pencil skirts of modest knee length and clashing Argyle tank tops. Jil Sander showed some striking acid colour pieces including a stand out orange peplum maxi skirt, and Haider Ackermanns stunning aquamarine blues and greens were simply divine. Erdems red lace 'Margot' dress is the seasons big hitter and when worn straight off the runway by Michelle Williams to the premiere of 'Blue Valentine' in October, it prompted lightning fast sales despite the £2,000 price tag.

I had the pleasure of working with my favourite stylist Miss Molly again this week after a long time apart. I started assisting her 4 years ago and it brought back SO many good memories.

First section- 'Swan Vesta'..

In Miss Molly's Words:-

Providing an antithesis to the colour pop brights of the season, this pastel and monochromatic collection of pieces allows a dreamlike state to ensue over the catwalk.

This section incorporates some theatrical glamour into the season; with headpieces, jewels, crystals and feathers battling it out against tulle, crinolines, chiffon and lace.

Rodarte were responsible for creating seven pieces for the film 'Black Swan', and this section is inspired by the Mulleavy sisters eclectic mixing of fabrics and influences. A dreamlike softness, championing the deconstructed beauty of labels such as Reem and Lanvin whilst incorporating some 50's inspired shapes turned to Goth punk perfection from French labels Carven and Charles Anastase.

When my hair gets long enough (and thick enough) i am going to wear my hair like this. I don't think i've seen anything so cute since the Luella Spring 2010 show. It makes me quite sad thinking about it really. I miss you Luella Bartley.

What a horrible horrible morning it was. even my Russell&Bromers couldn't handle the weather,but of course this wasn't going to stop us going to collect my pass for Charles Anastase at The Old sorting office. I fell in love all over again (last time was his SS11 collection) Luckily the models didn't have to walk down a stair case this time.

I am screaming with excitement. Marc's Fall collection is absolutely GORGE. By far my favourite Polka dots in a while. Really looking forward to having a Polka Dot collar to add to my collection. I have also fallen for Stephen Jones' Vinyl Berets- I wonder if my sister would let me wear one (as bridesmaid) to her wedding.....

So Last night saw the launch of Hermès-'J'Aime Mon Carré'(I love my scarf) campaign, originally photographed and filmed by Matt Irwin and styled By Francesca Burns around the streets of London, Paris, NewYork and Japan. I am going to be working with the campaign at two london venues with a group of stylists,styling customers and showing you all how to wear the beautiful scarves-Old and New-which may i add take two years to produce from design concept to engraving, printing, and finishing.

The launch last night couldn't have been better. It was so busy and so many people wanting their scarves styled and having their photos taken professionally just like one's on the website-http://www.jaimemoncarre.com/

I gave Beatrix Ong a 'Tour De Cou'- i thought it looked lovely with her shirt and her cropped hair.

And i gave Henry Holland a Hermes Turban and later another style which i cant find a photo of.

At the 33rd Beatles convention in Liverpool this weekend this particular item caused quite a stir in a Beatles memorabilia auction. John Lennons Porcelain toilet was estimated to sell for around £1000 but was sold to an overseas buyer for a whopping £9500. (if i had that money to spend on it then i certainly would have also put a bid in.)

Maybe ill just settle for buying this Andrew Martin cushion from John Lewis.

Today. I found out i need to have glasses. There i was,in specsavers trying on all of the glasses and was less than impressed. I dont understand how the 'Designer' glasses are 'Designer' they are hardly nice.. I nearly bought some big NHS glasses but i wasnt convinced. Im going to get a pair(or two) of these ones.

The Hop Farm Festival

So I arrived home a couple of days ago and have just recovered. I had the best weekend ever seeing some incredible musicians.

The friday was an absolute scorcher and when we all arrived and settled in,we ventured to the main stage to see Blondie who was wearing the most belts(at one time)i have ever seen..not a good look to say the least. And then Van Morrison (dressed head to toe in white)who was mind blowing, the best by far had to be 'Have i told you lately?'
The rest of the friday was a bit of a blur but there was better to come..

Saturday we went to watch The Magic numbers and we ate a pasty from one of the food stands. I wasnt impressed with (either) of them. The day was getting hotter by the minute and it was lucky we access to the artist garden backstage where there was a beautiful gazebo covered in flowers and ribbons.I managed to get some shade after watching Laura Marling.she was fab.

After a few hours of watching some artists we went back to the tent to freshen up and get ready for the night of Ray Davies and Bob Dylan..the excitement going through me was rediculous.

Ray Davies played such a good set- 'Dedicated follower of fashion' was my favourite.

Then on to Bob Dylan.. we went expecting exactly what we got and went away so happy. Bobby came onto the stage (jogging) wearing a black suit with a white stripe down each side a flourescent pink shirt and cream hat, opened with Rainy Day Woman #12 & #35. The crowd loved it. It got better, with Don’t Think Twice (It’s alright), Stuck Inside of Mobile, Just like a Woman,Ballad of a Thin Man, Blind Willie McTell, Like a Rolling Stone, Thunder on the Mountain and Forever Young. Towards the end we ran backstage(unfortunately he had his own garden so i couldnt have access to him) but i did get a photo of his tour bus..(its something right?)

We spent the rest of the night listening to 1950s cover bands and just dancing around in the big tent. I had the best weekend (apart i am not one for camping) I got to experience something i never thought i would-seeing Bob Dylan perform.

I dont think the line up will ever be as good as 2010(for me anyway) but we will wait and see...

When i left my house today it was grey and dull. But when i got to Angel it was so sunny i wish id worn my sunglasses. I stopped in Labour of Love and was reminded of Jewellery designer Gemma Lister. I Love a Collar on shirt or dress, but these detatchable ones are super cute.

Easter Bonnet

I found it hard knowing what kind of Easter Bonnet to go for this year. Did i go for a classic hat covered in flowers, like when we were younger. Or how about something more like the 1950's floral swim cap. Im not sure whether either of these would have been suitable for my Easter day activities. So instead i took insparation from accessories extroidinare -Benoît Missolin. I am in awe of his designs. I regularly take a trip to liberty to try them on.

So in the end my choice was easy. knowing that all the shops close on Easter sunday(annoying) i had to have a make-shift Benoit Missolin Head peice. I released my fabric boxes from my minature loft and found all of my old Taffeta and a load of lovely stiff organza. they went something like this. Even Ettie my cat got to try it one on.
